Paylocity Is Prepared For Health Care Reform

April, 2013. Arlington Heights, IL: The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2012 and represents the most extensive challenge to Payroll and HR professionals in decades. The act introduces numerous laws, safe harbor provisions and reporting requirements, some of which must be addressed now and some that will affect processes in the future.

Paylocity’s Web Pay is uniquely equipped with the tools necessary to help keep clients in compliance with the numerous requirements of the PPACA. To make the complexities of this act easier to understand, Paylocity has developed recorded training sessions to help answer many pressing questions, explain the details, and discuss the functionality that is available in Web Pay.

The training sessions are focused on key provisions that directly impact payroll and HR data which are:

  • Employer Shared Responsibility—“Play-or-Pay”
  • Discrimination Testing
  • Excise or “Cadillac” Tax

“Our commitment to software development and technical expertise has allowed us to design tools that will ease the burden of the many requirements involved with the Affordable Care Act,” said Steve Beauchamp, President and CEO of Paylocity. “We will continue to develop our solution to support those provisions that will effect reporting in 2014 and beyond.”

Paylocity is also fully committed to supporting the benefit broker community by arming them with the tools and education needed to prepare their business and their clients for the changes ahead. Live training webinars designed specifically for brokers are currently being conducted by Paylocity. These webinars are providing information that assists brokers in setting up strategies for managing the PPACA with their clients.

“We are pleased to be in a position to uniquely support both our clients and our broker partners throughout this monumental shift in Health Care reporting and compliance,” said Michael Haske, SVP of Sales and Marketing. “Our goal is to alleviate the fear that is associated with the PPACA and instill confidence in our clients and partners that Paylocity is ready to help them navigate through the complexities of the law.”
